BT to offer Wi-Fi services at British Airways UK lounges
British AirwaysBT will offer free, high-speed wireless broadband service to the customers of British Airways and Oneworld alliance in the airline's 25 lounges in the UK and Jersey. The airline has entered into a three-year agreement with the operator to this effect. BT Openzone will now be available in British Airways' lounges including the Galleries lounge complex in Heathrow Terminal 5. The terminal contains six British Airways lounges, capable of hosting up to 2,500 passengers. The service will also be available at all other Heathrow lounges and Gatwick, Manchester, Newcastle, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Aberdeen airports.

Using the complimentary service, British Airways' passengers will be able to work, surf or play on their mobile phones. Travellers can get connected to BT Openzone through the website of British Airways using any wireless-enabled device.

Emily Clark, lounges development manager for British Airways, said: "An integral part of the travel experience for our premium customers is the lounges and their ability to work or relax as they choose there. For business customers, free wireless will enable them to be connected to the office, right up until they fly."

Chris Bruce, general manager of BT Openzone, said: "British Airways has met customer demand for free Wi-Fi head on. Wireless broadband is an essential tool for both business and leisure travellers. Passengers can use their time productively before boarding their flights."

BT says that its estate in the UK and Ireland covers more than 2,500 hotspots including railway stations, hotel chains, coffee shops and marinas, from where customers can wirelessly connect to BT Openzone, BT FON, BT Office Anywhere and BT Fusion
