TRAFFIC ANALYSIS AND TROUBLESHOOTING
Developing a strategy for an organisation's data networks is dependent upon determining how the usage of that network is evolving. Tools to perform this type of analysis are not readily available. However, we have been working in this area for a number of years with a wide variety of different organisations and has developed an in depth analytical capability, which may be of assistance.
The routines analyse a summary of traffic flowing through one or more Cisco routers on the network. The information is collected over a relevant time period and then exported to our facilities where it is analysed to determine how the traffic is evolving. To a certain extent the technique could possibly be described as "retrospective network analysis" and may be of particular relevance for remote "independent" sites. It can also be used at a tactical level to identify unusual traffic and potential abuse of the network.
The service can be used by individual organisations or by support centres (e.g. the London Regional Support Centre) who can use it to analyse traffic flows for all of the organisations that they support
