John Elsden

John is the founder and Chairman of Allied Powers Limited, a management consultancy providing advice to Venture Capitalists together with management expertise in IT, acquisitions, and development for individual businesses.

Companies advised include Alcatel, Pegasus and 3Com, Netconnect, Planet Three, Mediasurface, Nexus Electronics and he has been instrumental in developing a number of businesses through funding and reconstructions. John was previously with the Trafalgar House Group for 22 years where he held a number of senior management positions becoming Managing Director of Allied Business Systems, a leader in Open Systems, where he introduced several pioneering technologies to the UK.

In 1989 John became Chairman of ABS Computers Limited, and in addition he became Chairman of several other technology based companies including Shortlands Computing Services and Multibus Limited.

Current directorships include The Electric Software Company Limited, and he is currently Chairman of Signum Technologies Ltd, Grid Xitec Ltd and a number of other companies in the technology field.

John was previously Chairman of Integrated Services Limited and Nordic Integrated Services AB until he sold these businesses to IBM.

He is also a member of the 3i Independent Directors program, a committee member of the Elite Group of the British Computer Society, and sat on the Technical Advisory board of Albany Ventures Ltd. and is currently on the board of Venture 4th Ltd.
