New Expert Panel Member - Tony Wasserman
Tony WassermanAnthony (Tony) Wasserman is Professor of Software Management Practice at Carnegie Mellon Silicon Valley, and the Executive Director of its Center for Open Source Investigation (COSI), which focuses on the evaluation and adoption of open source software, as well as its use in mobile devices. In 2000, Tony became VP of Bluestone Software (acquired by HP in 2001), responsible for its West Coast Labs, where he led the creation of the award-winning open source Total-e-Mobile toolkit, which allowed mobile devices to connect to web applications.
During the dot-com boom, he was VP of Engineering for a startup in San Francisco.

Tony is best known as the Founder and CEO of Interactive Development Environments (IDE), which built the innovative Software through Pictures multiuser modeling environment, which ran on numerous Unix workstations. Before starting IDE, Tony was a Professor of Medical Information Science at the University of California, San Francisco, and a Lecturer in the Computer Science Division at the University of California, Berkeley. He and his team developed and released the User Software Engineering development environment under a BSD open source license in 1981.

Tony is a frequent speaker at both research-oriented and commercial conferences, and has consulted extensively for both startups and established companies. He is the General Chairman for the forthcoming 5th International Conference on Open Source Systems.

Dr. Wasserman has a Ph.D. in computer sciences from the University of Wisconsin - Madison
and a B.A. in mathematics and physics from UC Berkeley, and has been selected as a Fellow of both the Association for Computing Machinery and the Institute of
Electrical and Electronic Engineers. He was the recipient of the first Stevens
Award for his contributions to software development methods.

New Expert Panel Member - Pete Russell
Pete RussellPeter Russell, 46, based in the UK, has been an open source software advocate since its beginnings. Peter, who is VP Media and Marketing Joomlatools, was a core team member of Joomla and Mambo. He created the strategy for Mambo's transition to Joomla, which saw community usage thrive to the amazing numbers Joomla now enjoys. Peter is responsible for creating the phonetic Joomla! branding elements, which has become so highly visible today, Joomla can confidently claiming to be the most popular content management system on the planet.

Prior to moving into the open source world, Pete coordinated marketing and IT for The Melbourne University which had all of the hallmarks of what open source communities now represent. He was the communications manager for security leading up to the Sydney 2000 Olympics, provided PR strategy for the NSW Police and other government departments.

In pure IT, Peter has worked as a regional manager for Apple Computers and coordinated many large projects involving multiple resources in various countries. Prior to blending IT and communication skills, Peter worked as a internationally published photo-journalist, including such titles as the Sydney Morning Herald, The Guardian, ACP and many more.


 
LeadSure Wins Contract to Develop International B2B Hub
B2B HubLeadSure announced that it had successfully bid to create and develop an International b2b hub for the optical marketplace.

Greg Warren director of the Optical hub said
“LeadSure's approach enabled us to adopt a cost effective business development strategy that will take us towards fulfilling our aims of becoming the premier B2B hub in the optical industry.”

The B2B hub which is being launched in three countries France, Germany and the UK will go live later this year.

John McCarthy Director of LeadSure said
